St. Vincent de Paul Main Campus We are so grateful for your partnership! Our work to Feed, Clothe, House and Heal could not be accomplished without your help. Integrated into all of our programs are our values of Spirituality, Fellowship, Serving those in need, and Giving others the opportunity to serve. Your volunteer ID# is: 961619 Please use this number to clock in AND out for every volunteer shift. Group size: 15 volunteers Onsite contact: Jessica Dickerson/ Delores Lopez You are scheduled in the Kitchen: Food preparation is housed at our main kitchen on the Watkins Campus. We produce 4,300 meals a day, 365 days a year. This central location is responsible for providing meals to all 5 St. Vincent de Paul dining rooms and over 20 partner social service agencies throughout the valley.
Volunteer duties include but are not limited to: chopping, dicing, washing vegetables, sorting produce for compost, packaging food, sorting / giving out essential items to guests, clean up (eg, mopping, taking out garbage, washing dishes, etc), or simply making an ol’ fashioned PB&J for the hundreds of sack lunches we hand out daily to our clients. Please note that closed-toe shoes with rubber soles are required, and we will provide additional required attire: gloves, plastic apron & hair net. Please wear sleeved shirts and pants/skirts/shorts that are knee-length or longer. Water bottles brought in must be able to be closed. We appreciate volunteers being flexible & helping where the greatest need is; this may mean working in an area different than originally scheduled. Age guidelines: 10 with 1:1 adult supervision; 14 on own. Thank you for reading all of the information on the attached volunteer info sheet. Please know that we count on our volunteers to accomplish our mission; you are 95% of our workforce! In addition, we don’t want to overbook volunteers, as we want each of you to have a meaningful experience and to know you are having an impact. Guest Speaker: Dr. Dean Rice Topic: Dr. Rice teaches a veterinary program to area high school students then takes some of these students on a trip to Africa to protect the rhinos. He was also the head veterinarian at the Phoenix Zoo. He was also a Rotarian for 25 years and is a Paul Harris Fellow!!!! |
