We will meet at Cortez High School to talk with students who attended RYLA this year.  Students are always exciting about this amazing weekend experience at Camp Pine Rock in Prescott.  Don't miss it.

Regular Meeting - Our "Soup"er Lunch

Our speaker who was going to talk about Grant Writing has cancelled so we may or may not be able to schedule another speaker.....For sure, we will have the second of our "Soup" lunches for Polio Plus.  If no speaker is located we will have a more leisurely lunch and spend time talking about club projects and issues.

Please respond so that we have enough soup for everyone.

Social Event - AZ Capitol Museum Tour

Kelly has arraned for this Docent led one hour walking tour of 33 monuments and emmorials honoring Arizonans who died in service to our state and the country.

A great way to get exercise and learn someing new--to say nothing of spending quality time with your fellow Rotarians and friends.

Dr. Michael Robert, Superintendent of the Osborn School District willl be speaker for the day.  (Pronounced Ro-bair).  Not sure of his topic but he is extremely personable and articulate so I'm sure you will enjoy him.

TRAVEL SIZE--foot powder, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, mouth wash, toothpaste, deodorant, facial tissue, disposable razors, playing cards, games, puzzle/game books, unscented baby wipes.  Please bring with you to the project.  .

Southeast corner of 52nd Avenue and West Montebello Avenue--Parking is just south of the building.  It's limited, so carpooling is recommended when possible.  

Tyrone has to pre-register us--No walk-ins, since sessions are limited to 20 total volunteers--Phoenix West has 10 slots!!!  We are asked to arrive 15 minutes early as volunteer tasks start promptly at 12PM. 

Tasks may include sorting donated goods, reviewing and/or writing letters, decorating care package boxes.

Taste of Surprise Event
Apr. 25, 2026 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

President John is sharing this opportunity for Phoenix West Rotary members to support the Rotary Clubs of Surprise and Sun City West in their big fundraising event to raise funds for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library which delivers free books each month to children up to age 5.  Club members can volunteer starting at 2PM or can just support the fundraising event by buying tickets and attending.  Volunteers are asked to also buy tickets to help support the charity.  Please register individaully at the link below:

No meeting--Happy Hour--MT Barrel Wine Tasting

We are dark for our regular meeting as we usually are on  fifth Thursdays, but don't miss the club Happy Hour starting at 5PM at MT Barrel--9784 W. Northern Avenue Ste. 1205 located inside Park West (Northern and the 101.)  

Rick and Lisa have checked out what they call "this wonderful little hide away" and recommend it highly.  They report that MT Barrel has a huge selection of wines where you can sample 1oz. or more, craft beers and numerous non-alcoholic special drinks.  They also report that the food looks amazing and they can accommodate a large group.  This is a great event to enjoy each other's company AND recruit potential members. Invite friends, family AND potential Rotarians.   Wear your Rotary t-shirt !! .  .

Changing of the Guard--Induction of New Officers

This will be the date of the annual "changing of the guard" at Christo's on 7th Street.  It is a time to recognize this year's leaders and recap the year and introduce the board for the 2026-27 Rotary year.  

We need to get a head count in order to reserve the room.  Please respond asap if you are going to be in town and will be attending the event.  This is always a good event to invite your significant other.  More details to follow but I believe the club covers the meal cost for members; David will bill members for their guests.

We will meet at DUET and assist with sorting supplies and assembling backpacks as part of DUET's Grandparents Raising Grandchildren.

ALSO--Support the District's TON OF FOOD project by bringing canned goods and other non perishible items.  Best we load these items into Susan's vehicle  vehicle after the event.
