PREPARING FOOD BOXES: Because we have a record number of families this year—31—we will be assembling food boxes on Thursday morning, December 19 beginning at 9AM. Please let Wilma or Sandy know if you can assist. (Note for those of you at the last meeting, we had intended to do this on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Montecito School, but that site simply has no empty space available close to a parking lot for pick-up.) John Bauermeister has graciously agreed to provide a truck/boxes/tape. |

Done In A Day Event LET'S BUILD BUNK BEDS FOR CHILDREN & FAMILIES IN NEED!It's time to get your hands dirty! We are working with the non-profit SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE to build beds. They have this very systematized and it is sure to be a lot of fun! The build will be in the parking lot of North & Co. real estate. The address is: 5635 E Thomas Rd (just east of 56th Street on the south side). Parking is very limited but there is a large lot on the northwest corner of Thomas and 56th. I do not have an official word on this but I think it's perfectly fine to park there. Our trailers will roll in around 6:45; volunteers at 7:00 to 7:15 and we will begin work as soon as it becomes light enough. There will also be access to restrooms in North & Co's offices and lunch will be served between 11:30 and noon. Members wishing to bring their children or other friends are welcome to. Children 16 and over may work on the own. Those younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All volunteers 18 and older must sign our release form. Those younger will need to have a parent sign for them. |
